Fair Trade Coffee Lands Collection includes three (3) 4 oz. sample bags
of of our favorite certified organic, small-batch roasted, whole bean
coffees.
Each 4 oz. pack makes approximately 20 cups (two pots) of fresh-brewed coffee.
Fair
Trade certification ensures that coffee farmers are paid fairly, and
that profits from their harvests are invested back into their own
communities to build and support schools, clinics and other projects
that increase standards of living and ensure a brighter future for farm
families.

• 4 oz. whole bean organic Mexican Altura Chiapas – 100% shade-grown, high-altitude coffee from Mexico’s El Trifuno Biosphere Reserve. At a medium roast, our Mexican Altura Chiapas reveals rich notes of chocolate and spice, with a natural sweetness that adds balance to this exceptional coffee.
This coffee is produced by Campesinos Ecológicos de la Sierra Madre de Chiapas (CESMACH), a Fair Trade, organic certified coop located within the buffer zone of El Triunfo Biosphere Reserve.

in the highlands of the Sierra Madre de Chiapas, El Triunfo Biosphere
Reserve is one of the world’s most diverse forest reserves. This
reserve contains Mesoamerica’s largest continuous cloud forest, and it
serves as a refuge to thousands of plant and animal species.
El Triunfo is a rare and valuable sanctuary requiring continued protection, and CESMACH ensures this protection through various sustainable practices. All coffee is shade grown, and biological corridors are created in order to facilitate bird and animal migration. In addition our Importer, Cafe Imports, pays a 10 cent premium for each pound of this coffee that is to be used for the continued maintenance of El Triunfo Biosphere Reserve. • 4 oz. whole bean organic Guatemala Mayan Morning – The small-plot, high-altitude, Fair Trade CertifiedTM coffee that goes into every bag of our Guatemala Mayan Morning is organically grown by members of The Asociación Chajulense Va’l Vaq Qujol, founded in 1988 by some 40 Ixil Mayan coffee farmers in Guatemala’s Quiché district. The organization currently boasts 1,662 active members, whose main goal is to “promote a sustainable development model that is environmentally sound, economically feasible, fair from a social point of view and appropriate from a cultural standpoint”. The organization is working in 56 communities of the Chajul, Nebaj, Cotzal and Chiantla areas. A well-balanced cup, our Guatemala Mayan Morning reveals hints of chocolate and spice, with rich yet delicate notes of toasted coconut, and a clean, silky body. It’s an ideal coffee for your morning cup, or one that can carry you through the day. • 4 oz. whole bean organic Out of Africa Ethiopian Yirgacheffe – This wildly aromatic, 100% organic, Fair Trade CertifiedTM coffee from Ethiopia’s Yirgacheffe Coffee Farmers Cooperative Union (YCFCU) reveals a delicate, berry-filled brightness and kiss of citrus. It’s a coffee filled with pleasant surprises, ideal for special occasions or treating yourself, family and friends with something out of the ordinary. Family farmers belonging to 23 local cooperatives that make up the YCFCU in Southern Ethiopia’s mountain forests, produce this ancient varietal coffee in their backyard gardens, planting a few trees among their food crops. This traditional varietal coffee known only as “Yirgacheffe,” has been passed from farmer to farmer for hundreds of years. Yirgacheffe coffee is unique to the region and, since each farmer plants a crop with his own seed, coffee from each community has over generations developed different charcteristics.
