An outstanding selection fordiscriminating coffee drinkers, Sumatra Mandheling was originally grownon the Indonesian island of Sumatra by Dutch planters in the 18thcentury. Today it is  cultivated in west-central Sumatra near the port of Pandang.

 Thesyrupy, full body of Sumatra Mandheling, combined with itsmuted-acidity, makes an elegant, exotic cup of coffee. The taste ofroasted caramel, and hints of chocolate make it truly exotic. SumatraMandheling is so smooth it that it is often characterized as being"creamy." Its deep aroma makes for an extremely satisfyingcoffee-drinking experience.

 The small-plot, high-altitude coffee  that goes into every bag of  our Mellow Monkey Mandhelingis sustainably grown and produced without chemicals or pesticides. Thisis triple-picked Sumatra Mandheling – meaning the final sorting is donethree times by hand to eliminate imperfections.  Mostfarms in the area range from one to four acres in size and areinterplanted with fruits and vegetables, allowing farmers to be moreself sufficient.
