Ethiopia Ayla Bombe Natural

Ayla is a washing station owned by Testi coffee, from whom we purchased this coffee.  The station serves 700+ farmers in and around Shentawene town in the Bombe district of the Sidama region of southern Ethiopia.   The coffee in the surrounding hills grows around 2,000m above sea level.  The high altitude of the farms and of the washing station along with the station's location on the banks of a high-altitude river allow for slow drying in a cool climate.  These long drying times help preserve the fruited character of the coffee and result in a very clean and elegant cup.  

Ayla Bombe is fruity and floral with light notes of melon, lychee and violet alone with fresh mixed berries.  The acidity is soft and the mouthfeel silky.  It's a beautiful example of a clean and delicate natural.
